The Persecution

As an American citizen, you think you have certain rights; but do you? Marshall won his civil case in which he was determined the rightful owner of the land he purchased and was mining; so then the state brought criminal charges and seized his assets. Unable to exercise his constitutional rights to testify in his own behalf; unable to obtain even the names of the jury members; unable to submit exonerating evidence in his own behalf; he suffered the loss of his property, his assets, his good name, and was illegally arrested, convicted and imprisoned for twelve years. He survived riots, assaults and the daily hazards of imprisonment for TWELVE years. His only crime? finding precious metals on his land.
